STEEL MAGNOIALS by Robert Harling

Mariposa Arts Theatre is pleased to present this play by American author Robert Harling, that is based on his family's experience of the death of his sister, Susan Harling-Robinson, from diabetic complications. Originally written as a short story it became a play first performed Off-Broadway and then adapted for the movie Steel Magnolias in 1989. In writing this play, Robert Harling, felt it was important to show the way the characters use humour and lighthearted conversations in dealing with the seriousness of the underlying situations.
